Bucharest Airports continues the efforts to reduce the waiting time at entering the country
As a result of the agreement between CN Aeroporturi București (CNAB) and the Public Health Directorate (DSP), the staff checking the Declarations of Liability, mandatory for most of the passengers arriving in the country, has been doubled. Because of the strong increase of the traffic in the last days, CNAB also supplemented the staff directing and orienting the passengers on the incoming flows, thus acting permanently with 10-15 own employees in the area, in the busy hours 10 of them ensuring the addition of DSP. In this way, CNAB continues its efforts to support the Romanian state authorities with the role of verifying and controlling the documents upon entering the Romanian territory.
At the same time, the Border Police (all border posts were opened) and the Gendarmerie were supplemented on the arrival flows, in order to ensure the maintenance of public order.
Given that the verification of the Declaration of Liability and other documents submitted by passengers (digital certificate, COVID test) is a thorough process and also the fact that only passengers arriving from the European Union (plus Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and possessing a digital certificate do NOT go through DSP control, the waiting time sometimes goes up to an hour.
The wait may be shortened if all passengers show up at the DSP counters with the documents ready, especially the Declaration of Liability filled in, in advance. The Declaration can be downloaded from https://www.bucharestairports.ro/ro/formular-declaratie-zona-galbena
