The aircraft parking area to be extended

Platform 1 of Henri Coandă International Airport will be extended with four new positions (15.000 mp) for parking CAT C aircrafts.

The contract values 12.699.546,01 lei and was signed with an association made up of Napoca Construction Company and UTI Group. The works are to be executed within 6 months.

The new parking area will be provided with modern lighting for safe operating in low/night visibility conditions operation, as well as landing direction lights for ICAO CAT III. These will be ensured all the neccessary utilities, including supply and fire hydrants, rainwater sewers, and drainage of infiltration water.

"The new investment will provide the processing capacity needed to face the growing airport traffic, resulting in a 10% increase in the capacity of the platforms," ​​said Traian Panait, Bucharest Airports General Manager.
