Measures to increase the number of taxi cars at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport

As of Wednesday, May 25, 2016, 12.00 am, in order to ensure enough taxis at Henri Coanda Airport, a new flow of taxi cars taking passengers will open. This flow is located on the ground floor of the Arrivals Terminal.

All taxis that charge the minimum fare approved by the authorities in Bucharest and Ilfov (1.39 lei/km) have free access, within the limit of free spaces, at the airport’s new passenger pickup flow. These taxis are available without prior request.

This is a temporary measure and will be applied until the reach of 2.000 taxis licensed at the airport (number with 50% bigger than the maximum taxi requests registered during a busy day). After authorization of the 2.000 taxis, only they will have access to the airport’s passenger pickup flows. Currently, there are 1.000 licensed taxi cars and authorization procedure are carried out fast and free.
