CNAB: profit of 68 million lei in 2012, 15% higher income compared to 2011
Bucharest Airports National Company (BANC) recorded in 2012 a total income of 609,440,349 lei, with a 15% increase compared to 2011. BANC’s gross profit in 2012 rose up to 67,916,140 lei.
In 2012, BANC recorded on both airports of the city a total of 7,547,465 passenger traffic and 98592 aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs). Compared to 2011, the number of passengers having transited the two airports of the city increased by 1.33% in 2012.
The evolution of the number of passengers on both Bucharest Airports National Company’s airports fits the general tendency of growth recorded worldwide. According to statistics published by the Airports Council International (ACI), the European air traffic increased by 1.7% in 2012 compared to 2011.
In 2012, on AIHCB two new airlines began to operate: TAP Portugal and Flydubai. Starting March 25, 2012, Blue Air, Wizzair and Germanwings have transferred their flights from Bucharest Băneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport to Bucharest Henri CoandăInternational Airport.
