Qatar Airways - a new airline on Henri Coanda Airport

January 17th, 2011: Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight of Qatar Airways. The airline will operate 4 flights a week on the route Bucharest-Doha, offering the Romanians the opportunity of being closer to the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. The event was attended by Mrs. Anca Boagiu, the Minister of Transports and Infrastructure, Mrs. Elena Udrea, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, representatives of Qatar Airways, of Bucharest Airports National Company, the ambassador of Qatar in Bucharest as well as the ambassadors of Romania and Hungary in Qatar, together with other Romanian and foreign officials. On board the airline’s inaugural flight to Bucharest was Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Anca Boagiu, the Minister of Transports and Infrastructure, Mrs. Elena Udrea, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, representatives of Qatar Airways, of Bucharest Airports National Company, the ambassador of Qatar in Bucharest as well as the ambassadors of Romania and Hungary in Qatar, together with other Romanian and foreign officials.
